There are many business models (online and offline) where blog marketing can have a positive impact on branding and sales of your business.
For our purposes, I want to show you why blog marketing, or blogging as it’s commonly referred to, can have a extremely positive impact on your Internet or MLM/Network Marketing business.
Here’s a definition of blog marketing from Accuracast:
Blog marketing is any process that publicises or advertises a website, business, brand or service via the medium of blogs. This includes, but is not limited to marketing via ads placed on blogs, recommendations and reviews by the blogger, promotion via entries on third party blogs and cross-syndication of information across multiple blogs.
Defined simply for our purposes, blog marketing is using the power of your blog to promote your online business.
Keep in mind that blog marketing is different than just ‘blogging’, per se. We are blogging with a purpose to promote our business, rather than just creative writing with no specific goal.
I think this is the most important aspect of blogging. Branding yourself is vital no matter what business you’re in, and internet/network marketing is no different. By consistently publishing content, you naturally build your importance in the eyes of your audience….or your authority. You also brand yourself in your industry and provide value, the more people will want to work with you. THAT is the lifeblood in MLM.
A properly optimized blog and a consistent posting schedule can literally bring you tons of traffic and leads for your business over time. Combine this with brand building, and you have a VERY powerful marketing combination.
Putting out consistent content is perfect for your email subscribers (you are building an email list aren’t you??). Just email them every time you publish a new post. You will always have a reason to not only email them but provide them value. And in turn that keeps your list healthy and engaged. And engagement leads to more sales and more reps in your business.
You can’t help but constantly learn new strategies, tips and tricks about your business when you blog, which you can use for even more content going forward. You’ll find that you have tons of new ideas as you write.
This is more important than you think. By having a regular schedule of blog marketing, posting and blog promotion, you’ll develop habits that will enable to get more done in other aspects of your business. Take it from me and others I know…this really can help you be more productive.
Look, there’s days where I don’t feel like writing I’ll admit. Not everything we do is fun when we’re trying to accomplish something. But studies have proven the practice of writing is really good for your brain. And the more you do it…the more fun it gets. Plus, it’s a pretty cool feeling to be a published blogger! 🙂
There is no hard and fast rule here, but you should always strive to be consistent. Meaning, if you publish a post on Tuesday and Thursday, then try to stick to that schedule. Your readers will come to expect it on those days. Also, start slowly if you don’t have a a lot of time. You don’t want to burn yourself out and you can always increase your post frequency as time goes. Having said that, a good place to start is 2 times a week.
I highly recommend you consider blogging as part of your internet marketing strategy. The benefits it can provide to your business can be substantial and it can boost your authority in the marketplace which cannot be underestimated.
