Strippers, Corndogs and The 4 Minute Work Week

'Too many people think they can put in the 4 minute work week for their business and bring in the 'Bennies. Here's the stark truth before you're left naked...'

So you’ve been pitched on the best thing since sliced (humble) pie…

They made a compelling offer and you bit.

“This is unreal!” they exclaimed. “Get set up and you’ll be making 10K a month working 4 hours a week!”

Not so fast Jackson…

The 4 Minute Work Week (and Tim's greatest fear)

I’m sure most of you have heard (or even read) ‘The 4-Hour Work Week’ by Tim Ferris. Ferris outlines a plan for streamlining your work processes so you put in less hours and have more time to enjoy your life.

No, I’m not going to criticize Tim’s book. It's a helluva read. What I am going to criticize is most people’s interpretation OF IT.

Too many people get this notion that they can start a business (home, online…doesn’t really matter) and right off the bat knock out a half hour a day in their ‘business’. Then they gripe and bitch why the ‘Bennies aren’t caressing their backside like a stripper at a blacklight convention.

This is because they’ve failed miserably at realizing they will have to bust their bahama establishing that ‘greatest thing since sliced fruitcake that takes very little work’ thingy.

Also, so many ‘prepare’ for their ‘lifestyle business’ that they forget to just start doing it…

…and herein lies the brutal truth:

The 4 Minute Smoke and Mirrors Week

Sometimes you’re just going to have to put in long hours until you get more efficient and set yourself up for the future, where you can THEN work less.

I can hear it now…

Blasphemy!

Did Kenster just say ‘long hours’? Isn’t that a no-no for ‘get rich quick’ businesses? You can’t ever ADMIT that….right??

Uh-huh...

There is no ‘get rich quick’, ‘3 hours a week’ …and deep down you KNOW that, don’t you?

Second, you also know deep down that any significant endeavor takes hard work and commitment. But no, people are afraid to say the ‘w’ word because they think they’ll scare clients off.

No, what you’ll scare off is the WRONG kind of clients. And that’s EXACTLY what you want.

Is it possible to have a ‘lifestyle business’ where you work less hours than the typical biz?

Absolutely. I, and many others I know are living proof.

Butt...it takes real commitment to get there.

Get 'minutes' out of your vocabulary for starters...

I tell potential clients all the time: ‘if you want to work 2-3 hours a week and think that will build your business then do NOT waste your time’.

That’s a flipping pipe dream.

You know what I DO tell them? ‘2 hours a day consistently…MIN E MUMM!!!’ THAT will bring you progress.

Anyone who claims otherwise is selling you corndogs and bacon ice cream at a Vegan festival.

I don’t need to hype it. You either want to get serious…or you do not.

Please though, don’t ask me for a lap dance…
