So you think you’re all that and a bag of chips?
You’ve been through the ringer…you’ve overcome huge obstacles in your life and business, and you’ve grown in ways you’ve never imagined.
If this has been your journey, I truly applaud you.
Your friends and loved ones watch your victories unfold and proclaim before you:
“You rock…stay true to yourself man…you’ve got this!”
You’ve got nothing IF you ‘stay’ anywhere…and the truth is often wrong.
Let’s explore two definitions so I can show you how your self deceives you…
From the Mind Body Green:
When you are being true to yourself, you are completely honest with what you feel, deeply value, and desire. It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself and others, allowing your truth to flow through you and into the world.
I think I just threw up a little…let’s continue…
This one from the Cambridge Dictionary:
Behaving according to your beliefs and doing what you think is right:
Try to remember that no matter how hard it gets, you have to remain true to yourself.
Remain ‘true to yourself’?’ ‘No matter how hard’? Before you hunker down and stick to whatever ‘truth’ you have, consider it may very well be a bunch of BS.
Yeah yeah I get it. You want to be authentic. You should be authentic. You want to be honest. You should be honest.
I consider these things to be the BARE MINIMUM.
These days I try to challenge my beliefs before I lock myself down to any ‘truths’. Because most of the time, I’m usually just wrong.
This kind of crap is what you see on Instaboobs. Hey, I’ve fallen for this drivel too. It’s become a buzzphrase.
What if you constantly make bad decisions? “Well that’s who I am Ken!” Great. You’re being true…and an idiot.
Let’s take a selfie.
Make it a practice to question everything in your life (yes…everything). Us humans have a tendency to be stuck in our belief systems and are afraid to move to another line of thinking.
‘Staying’ anywhere just gives you an out.
Hold on to the truth loosely…because it changes my friends.
Who doesn't pal? If you have a rich Uncle, you're good to go. If not, then you better get real and realize that latest 'opportunity' on that Facebook group where you can make 300 bucks over and over for doing nothing is complete bullshit. ARE YOU READY TO GET REAL?? >> >> >> >>
