If (when!) you make it to San Diego make sure to cruise on down to Ocean Beach.
There you will find a beach culture like any other. And if you’d like some gorgeous views, some yummy fish tacos and cold champagne, then you’ll love South Beach Bar & Grill…Continue reading
My all-time favorite place to eat in San Diego is The Brigantine Seafood and Oyster Bar Restaurant…more commonly known to the locals as The Brig.
The Brigantine first opened in 1969 and has several locations around SD. But the one I’ve been going to for years is in Point Loma.
In the interest of full disclosure and honesty, I have never eaten in their dining room. I have always dined in the oyster bar section where they serve a much simpler menu. Just habit I guess…
Watch the video as I showcase a quick Fish Taco (what they’re known for) and a delicious Ballast Point Sculpin:
NOTE: The Brig also has another great location in Del Mar next to the Del Mar Horse Racing Track and Fairgrounds.
In today’s video, I went to one of my favorite places to eat…Point Loma Seafoods.
Point Loma Seafoods was started by Kelly Christianson and his wife Marie in 1963 when they began selling fish out of a small store. From there it has grown to one of THE go-to places in San Diego.Continue reading
There’s nothing quite like California…
In the space of a couple hours, you can literally travel from the desert to the mountains to the ocean.
Which is exactly what I did today.
Well, I didn’t get to the mountains, but in today’s video, I’ll show you how easy it is to hop in your car and get from the desert near Palm Springs and end up on the beautiful coast of the San Diego County beaches.
If you ever get a chance to visit the Southern California low desert, make sure you pay a visit to a little town called Borrego Springs.
There, in the center of town, you’ll find a 70’s-ish looking restaurant-burger-joint-cold-beer-bar called Carlee’s Place.Continue reading
As a lifelong desert lover and partial time resident I really enjoy attending the Borrego Days Desert Festival in Borrego Springs, California.
The Borrego Days Desert Festival is a yearly gathering of people, food, music, art and community (from Oct. 23rd to 25th) set in a beautiful desert valley about 2 hours east of San Diego. And I cannot overstate the beauty here!Continue reading
I am not a big gambler, but one place where I thoroughly love staying is the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio, California.Continue reading
If only Harry Bennett could (not to mention Mr. Ford) talk from the grave…
The name Henry Ford is easily recognizable to most Americans as the legendary founder of Ford Motor Company, the car company that bears his name.
But most do not know one of Ford’s most notorious employees by the name of Harry Bennett.Continue reading
