Popular autoresponder company Mailchimp have started shutting down accounts that are related to Cryptocurrencies and ICOs (Initial Coin Offerings) in an apparent effort to protect their service from potential scams.
You may not be in Cryptocurrency, but this could still affect you. Watch my video to find out why.
However, Mailchimp said that the ban will not affect accounts that are only reporting on Crypto news, just the ones who are actively selling investments or ICO’s:
According to a spokesperson for the company, the websites which are just publishing news of cryptocurrencies or ICOs will be able to use the platform. However, the email marketing tools cannot be used by people who are directly selling ICOs or cryptocurrency investments. However, most of the Internet marketers which have borne the brunt of the new policy change of the company claimed that the company is indiscriminately shutting down all accounts which are related to the niche of cryptocurrency and ICOs. This is what is causing panic among the Internet marketers. The problem is that if some of the other companies also start following suit, it will be very difficult for the digital marketers to reach out to the readers as well as visitors.
Now, you may not be participating in the Cryptocurrency space, but this represents an important lesson you must keep in mind if you are using an autoresponder service, which I outline in my video.
