‘The Leads are Weak? The %#@*&$# Leads are Weak…Youre Weak’

“The leads are weak? The &#$%@#@ leads are weak?  You’re weak.”

Anyone who has seen the movie Glengarry Glen Ross knows this line well.

The movie depicts the lives of four burnt-out real estate salesmen who become desperate when a corporate trainer, played by Alec Baldwin, comes in to their office to tell them they’re all about to be fired unless they start making sales.

The Baldwin scene is well-known and become iconic not only for its scathing message about performance in the sales world, but the graphic use of profanity.

The Leads Are Weak…Are They…Really?

I’ve made many excuses in my online (and offline) career why I wasn’t making sales. I’ve used them all. But the one I used most was…you guessed it:

“The leads are weak.”

No. I was weak.

Hard to admit…but liberating to own.

It’s easy for us to make excuses for anything in life. It gives us an out. In Internet Network Marketing, when we don’t get a sale we blame it on the lead.

It’s NEVER the lead.

Ty Cobb had the highest lifetime batting average in the history of Major League Baseball at .366. That means almost 7 out of every 10 times he FAILED. And he was the BEST EVER.

If you’re new to internet and or network marketing, 1 out of 20 or even 1 out 30 or 40 would be very good.  Even the best started out this way.  Don’t dwell on the ones who don’t.  You’re wasting your time.

It’s Cliche But True…Sales is a Numbers Game

Not everybody who drives by Wal-Mart goes in to shop there, do they?  Do you think everybody who visits Amazon.com buys something?  A very small percentage do.  VERY SMALL.  Those are facts, people.

‘No’s’ are just as important as the ‘yes’s’

The no’s teach you how to be better at what you do.  That’s it.  You can’t have the yes’s without the no’s.  The universe doesn’t work that way.  Either put your big boy pants on and accept the truth or don’t.  No one cares until you do.

There’s no magic bullet in life…and there’s none in sales.  You want the money?  You want the life? Close.
